Bringing some added beauty to Sunset Blvd. was Kate Beckinsale, whom I r a n into at the Mondrian hotel. Kate has several films coming out between now and the fall, including "Snow Angels," a tough drama that has been described as a cross between "Elephant" and "Monster." Fun!
"It is quite grueling; there are some difficult themes in the movie, but there is hope, too," she told me at a lunch in her honor, thrown by Los Angeles Confidential magazine. "Me and Sam Rockwell are a couple who has divorced. He has some mental problems and I'm struggling to bring up my daughter." Kate will also play a Judith Miller-esque journalist who faces prison for not revealing a source ("Nothing But the Truth") and a U.S. Marshal investigating a murder in Antarctica ("Whiteout").
