RUSSELL Simmons was put in the spotlight at Jason Binn's Los Angeles Confidential magazine pre-Oscar bash at Asia De Cuba hosted by cover girl Kate Beckinsale.
The hip-hop mogul, who sat with his model girlfriend Porschla Coleman, smiled with yoga-enhanced serenity when Binn announced that Simmons would be taking out his credit card to cover the 150-person lunch. Simmons, who wore the same color purple as Coleman and matching bracelets, joked that his tablemate, oil heir Jason Davis, would pick u p the tab. Nearby, Beckinsale - surrounded by her mother, stepfather and husband Len Wiseman - was pleasantly surprised that the only non-family member to crash Beckinsale's table was Paula Abdul. Also there: All Landry, Dennis and Victoria Hopper, and Izabella Miko.
